Spring to Autumn 2014

29th October 2014

Another busy Spring & Summer has passed at The Honeypot and our tearoom has just closed for the Winter, the guest house remains open all year. So what happened this year, from the blog page, obviously nothing one might ask ? In reality it was extremely busy for us here in Crail and our handful of Facebook postings hardly reflect the activity surrounding our business. Over 10,000 visitors passed through the tearoom with 280 in one day during Crail Food Festival which was spearheaded by Graham and now heads towards its 5th year in 2015, over 5,000 visitors are expected to converge in Crail that weekend. We had other fun with our friends at East Neuk Festival, catering for 100 covers for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra here in Crail and a lovely seafood dinner for the visitng journalists. Everyone also enjoyed another magnificent sand sculpture outside The Honeypot. The summer Crail Festival saw us pop down to Nethergate with yummy strawberry tarts as part of the celebrations on a sunny Saturday. Sun was much in evidence this year and our south facing food and drinks garden was always busy, great for everyone, plenty doggies around as well, fresh crab & chilled wine went down a treat. We were still serving into October and its a great wee sun trap, full of flowers and just so nice to be able to sit outside with food & drink at cafe prices. Our overnight guests featured prominently again and we have fond memories of some great impromptu moments, some into the small hours, some with seafood tapas, some with drinks and more. Those guests are the visitors who help make The Honeypot so easy to run and just this week we received our fifth 5 star Excellence Award from the Trip Advisor Travel Community. Thats a heartfelt reccommendation from our guests and we thank every every one of them who took the time to tell others about their experiences here in Crail. So, its November again, time to plan next years Food Festival with the help from a few friends and maybe a wee jaunt to warmer climes for some sun and fishing. Thanks to everyone who has supported our business here in Crail.
