The Honeypot News Blog - January 2010
Firstly , a big thanks to everyone who stayed with us over the festivities and in particular to Sandy and David Hutchins & Co who were in Crail for the marriage of Lee and Emma. A complimentary shortbread pack is on its way to Lou in Grimsby.
New Year was celebrated down at Castle Walk with a sparkling Chardonnay / Pinot , after all it was breakfast at 08.00am which gave us plenty of time to make a belter of a soup for the cafe. Cream of Chestnut went down an absolute treat.
Since then the cafe has been closed and we re-open again on the 6th of February after another wave of redecorating and the changing of our triple famiy room into a more spacious double room complete with sofa for sitting back with a glass of red.
On the village front , its fairly quiet just now and you can view the latest council minutes here to see what progress is being made with some of the local issues. Great news is that Cambo Gardens will have illuminated snow drop walks this year
Like everywhere else it has been really cold with temperatures down to -4C at night, but the place has looked really beautiful during the day. We had a walk around on Tuesday and it was lovely , a few herons have taken residence in the churchyard and the skies have been the most amazing colour.
Oh , I forgot to mention that Edna and Megan gave me my first sponge baking lessons just before New Year , as you can see Ive got a bit of learning still to do.
Thats all for now , we have room rates of £55 during February and March with some realistic prices for single occupancy.
Thanks again to all our tearoom and guest house visitors.
Graham
